Yes — modern phone browsers support the webcam API and WebGL. Hold the phone steady in landscape and play with both hands; performance depends on the device's GPU.

Is anything uploaded?

No. The camera feed, hand-tracking model, and synthesized drum sounds all run inside the browser tab. There is no server processing and no recording unless you explicitly capture one.

Why does the model sometimes take a second to recognize my hand?

The MediaPipe hand-landmark model needs a clear view of a hand. Even, front-facing lighting and keeping your full hand in frame reduce that lock-on delay; low light or a hand at a steep angle forces the model to wait for a more confident frame.
