How Dance Coach works
Dance Coach turns MediaPipe Pose tracking into a one-minute interactive dance game. A target skeleton shows the next move while your webcam tracks your body. When you match the target closely enough and hold it briefly, the coach advances to the next pose.
Easy, Regular and Fast modes
Easy gives you more time and a wider matching tolerance. Regular increases the pace, while Fast requires quicker, more accurate poses.
Better pose matching
The coach compares normalized body landmarks and body-segment directions instead of demanding pixel-perfect positioning. This helps accommodate different heights, camera distances and positions in the frame.
Tips
- Keep your entire body visible.
- Use good, even lighting.
- Keep the camera stable.
- Avoid hiding your arms or legs behind objects.
- Hold a matched pose for a moment before moving.
Privacy and limitations
Dance Coach uses the camera only for live pose detection in your browser. It is a game and practice aid, not professional dance instruction or a fitness assessment. Fast movements, poor lighting, occlusion and unusual camera angles can reduce tracking accuracy.
Frequently asked questions
Is Dance Coach free? Yes. It is designed to run in a modern browser using client-side technology.
Does it record me? No. The page does not need to upload or store your camera video.
Why won't a pose register? Step back, make sure all major joints are visible, improve lighting and hold the position briefly.
