Online Mouse Tester
Test your mouse for free. Press every button to confirm left, right, middle, back and forward register, then scroll the wheel, double-click the target and drag across the pad.
Double-click test
Double-click the box. If your mouse double-clicks cleanly, both clicks should register every time.
Drag and pointer precision
Press and drag inside the pad. A healthy mouse draws a continuous line with no jumps or skipped segments.
How to test your mouse
- Click Start test.
- Press each button on your mouse. Right-click is captured, so the context menu will not open.
- Scroll the wheel up and down.
- Double-click the target box.
- Drag a line inside the pad.
What each counter tells you
| Counter | What it means |
|---|---|
| Left / Right / Middle | Primary, secondary and wheel-click buttons. |
| Back / Forward | The thumb buttons, usually two on a gaming mouse. |
| Clicks per second | How fast you can click. Below 5 with no hardware fault points at pointer acceleration. |
| Double-clicks | Counts clean double-clicks on the target box. |
| Scroll up / down | Notches detected from the scroll wheel. |
| Drags | Completed press-drag-release gestures inside the pad. |
Mouse tester limitations
- Some browsers reserve the middle click and side buttons for navigation, so those counters may stay empty in an in-app browser.
- Games that read raw USB input bypass the browser, so this test reflects what your browser sees, not raw polling rates.
- Wireless dropouts can look like missed buttons. Test a second time before blaming the hardware.
- A trackpad is a mouse too, but it has no middle or side buttons, so those rows stay untested by design.
Privacy
This tester only counts mouse events inside your browser. Nothing is uploaded, logged or stored.
FAQ
How do I test my mouse buttons?
Click Start test, then press each button on your mouse anywhere on this page. Every button you press turns green in the button list and adds to its counter.
Why can't my browser see my middle or side mouse button?
Some browsers and operating systems reserve the middle click and the side buttons for back and forward navigation. Open the test in a normal browser tab, not inside an in-app browser, and try again.
How do I check if my mouse wheel is working?
Scroll down over the page. Each scroll notch is counted as up or down, and the vertical scroll counter updates as you scroll.
What is a good clicks per second score?
Most people reach 6 to 9 clicks per second in a short burst. A low score with a healthy mouse usually means your operating system pointer acceleration is slowing the pointer down rather than a hardware fault.
Does this mouse tester record anything I do?
No. The mouse events are counted inside the page in your browser and are never sent to a server or stored anywhere.
