Free Online Video Editor

Slopbin Video Editor is a private browser video editor that runs entirely on your device. It's a free tool to trim a video, crop a video online, resize video, rotate video, change video speed, add text overlays, apply filters, and export — all video editor without upload. There is no software to install and no account to create.

How to Edit a Video Online

  1. Select your video. Drag and drop a file or tap Choose Video.
  2. Trim or edit it. Use the timeline handles, crop, rotate, resize, speed, text and filter tools.
  3. Apply changes. Every change previews instantly in the editor.
  4. Choose export settings. Pick a resolution and quality for your finished video.
  5. Download the finished video. Export is rendered locally and saved straight to your device.

How Does Browser Video Editing Work?

When you choose a file, your browser decodes it locally. The online video editor reads each frame and draws your edits — crops, rotations, filters, text — onto a canvas. When you export, those same frames are re-encoded on your computer into a finished video file. Nothing is sent over the internet.

Is My Video Uploaded?

No. This implementation processes the video locally in your browser and does not intentionally upload it. There is no backend, no database, and no cloud video processing. Because your file is never sent to a server, a video editor this private is a great choice for sensitive footage.

Can I Trim a Video Without Installing Software?

Yes. This browser based video editor runs in any modern browser, so you can trim, cut, and rearrange clips without installing Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, or CapCut. Everything, including export, happens on the page you're viewing right now.

How to Crop a Video

Open the Crop tool, pick a preset (16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:3) or drag the crop rectangle over the preview, then choose Apply Crop. The cropped framing is baked into the exported file, not just the preview.

How to Resize a Video

Open the Resize tool and choose a preset — 4K, 1080p, 720p, 480p, 360p — or enter a custom width and height. Aspect ratio is kept by default so your video never looks squashed. Resize online before sharing to save bandwidth.

How to Rotate a Video

Use the rotate buttons to spin the video 90 degrees clockwise or counter-clockwise, and flip it horizontally or vertically. Handy for phone footage recorded sideways. Changes appear instantly in the preview and in the export.

How to Change Video Speed

Open the Speed tool and pick from 0.25x to 4x, or enter a custom value. The editor recalculates the estimated duration as you go, so you know exactly how long the final clip will be.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this video editor free?

Yes. The Slopbin video editor is completely free with no accounts, no sign-up, and no watermarks.

Does my video get uploaded?

No. All processing happens in your browser. Your video file is never uploaded to a server, so it never leaves your device.

Can I edit MP4 videos?

Yes, if your browser can decode the file. MP4 with H.264 (AVC) video is the most widely supported format across Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox.

Can I trim a video?

Yes. Drag the trim handles on the timeline or enter start and end times, then preview and export only the section you keep.

Can I crop a video?

Yes. Use the crop tool to drag a crop rectangle over the preview, or pick a preset like 16:9, 9:16 or 1:1.

Can I resize a video?

Yes. Choose a resize preset such as 1080p or 720p, or enter a custom width and height while keeping the aspect ratio.

Can I rotate a video?

Yes. Rotate the video 90 degrees clockwise or counter-clockwise, and flip it horizontally or vertically with instant preview.

Can I change video speed?

Yes. Slow your video down or speed it up from 0.25x to 4x, and see the new estimated duration instantly.

Can I add text to a video?

Yes. Add text overlays with your choice of font, size, color, alignment, position and timing. Text is baked into the exported video.

Does it work on phones?

Yes. The editor uses a touch-friendly interface on Android Chrome and iPhone Safari, with a bottom toolbar and large controls.

Does it work offline?

Yes for editing and export once the page is loaded — everything runs in your browser. Because no server is involved, your video is processed locally.

Why is my video taking a long time to export?

Export re-encodes every frame in your browser, which uses CPU. Long or high-resolution videos take longer. Processing time depends on your device, not a server.

What happens if my video is too large?

You'll see a warning about memory and processing time. If your browser runs out of memory, try a shorter video, a lower resolution, or a smaller file.

What video formats are supported?

Any format your browser can decode. MP4 (H.264) is the most reliable. If a file won't open, the editor tells you why and suggests MP4.

How it works

Your video stays in your browser. Slopbin does not upload your video to a server. Processing happens locally on your device: the file is decoded, edited, and re-encoded by your web browser using video and canvas technologies built into Chrome, Edge, Safari and Firefox.

  • No accounts, no sign-up.
  • No backend, database, or cloud processing.
  • No video or project data ever leaves your computer.
